Course Description and Objectives
The English Learner program at El Cajon Valley High School offers students a comprehensive academic program that develops English fluency as quickly as possible while providing access to English Language Arts high school level standards. This course is designed with supports to help English Language Learners master 9th grade ELA CA Standards.

Calendar of Assignments and Due Dates
Please see the class web page. Students are required to write their homework in their planners each day.
Grading / Evaluation Student grades are made up of 4 categories:
Reading Standards: 35%
Writing Standards: 35%
Speaking Standards: 15%
Class Participation: 15%
Assignments
Students must complete all assignments. This includes class work as well as homework.
Students must make up missed/failed tests after school on the test make-up date.
Conduct
All El Cajon Valley High School rules apply.
Be on time. This means be in your seat and ready to work when the bell rings.
Bring materials: textbooks, notebook, paper, pencil, and pen.
No gum, food, or beverages. Bottled water is allowed.
Contribute to a positive classroom environment.
Failure to follow the rules may result in being removed from Summer School.
